A man with God is always in the majority.
-Nishant Netaji
My mother was admitted on the 21st of june 2009 for a knee repalcement surgery ( surgery done by Dr. Niraj Vora)of her right knee. The payment of Rs 1,65000.00 was made and she was discharged on the 27th of june. She returned on the 7th of july to remove her stitches when Dr. Neeraj Vora (Treating Doctor) saw that the wound had not healed and advised her to return every alternate day to check on her progress. On the 9th of july two small puncture like wounds were noticed and on the 11th when it was found that the wounds were bigger, Dr Vora advised an “infected wound surgery” with hospitalization for 3 days. The operation was done on the 13th of july and she was actualy discharged after 15 long days.
However the wound has not healed. My mother underwent 2 surgeries at Kokilaben hospital and she was discharged with the wound not healed, but with the assurance by the treating doctor that it is healing, and with the continuation of the intraveinous injections to heal in due course of time(the course is of 45 days, and each injection costs approximately Rs2500/.).
My mother was admitted again to nursing home for viral fever and loss of blood, the cause being the infection. I have again consulted Doctor’s who have recommended immediate revision surgery. Most of the Doctors have commented that this infection is a complicated case and can be “limb or life threatening”, whereas the treating Doctor from Kokilaben Hospital repeatedly confirmed no cause to worry and advised us to take time to do the next surgery as long as 2-3 months. This seems extremely misleading to the patient and the family.
What I did not appreciate about your Hospital: On knowledge of infection, there should have been speedy action taken to rectify or remove the infection, more transparency suggesting that the hospital or the Doctors are not equipped to handle such complicated case. Because of the hospital’s inexperience in handling infected cases my mother has been in threat since 13-Jul-09 till date
Delay in providing communication and appropriate treatment in spite of us following up with the Hospital on our grievance
Trauma suffered by my family : Psychologically my mother has given up hopes to walk, to an extend to live life and she is in constant pain on the fact that there is an infection in her body , she has been operated twice and there will be further how many surgeries now to rectify the same one does not know. Our family has been completely traumatized by false advises from the Hospital and this has made us to suffer mentally and financially. My father is a worried man he is retired (65 years old) and therefore has tight financial situation, the expenses incurred so far has been out of budget (for no fault of us) and further expense would actually leave us with no money in hand for any further emergencies,
Please note the money spent so far as per records in Kokilaben Hospital and post operation – Rs.752000/- and a further estimated cost is around Rs.500000/- plus post operation expenses for New Knee Replacement – Total expenditure estimated is of Rs.10 lacs to Rs.15 lacs
My decision wef 3-Oct-09, since I was totally dissatisfied with the services provided by the Hospital and left with no alternatives, but to see other Doctors who are providing better services after proper diagnosis I have disassociated my mother’s case with Kokilaben Hospital.
Now my mother has gone through the 3rd Operation at Lilavati Hospital , again continuing 45 days of intraveinous injections course to heal the infection.
The fourth operation is pending and has been recommended between Jan 2010 – Feb 2010
STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO PEOPLE RESIDING IN MUMBAI.. DO NOT VISIT KOKILABEN HOSPITAL FOR ANY TREATMENT, IF YOU DO , AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Rgds,
H. Tarapore
TREAT TO DEATH WILL BE A SERIES OF BLOGS TO CREATE AWARENESS ABOUT THE ATTITUDE OF HOSPITALS IN INDIA. And here is the 1st case that shows how cooperative are the hospitals.
CASE#1 : written by patient’s husband
We were living in the UK for few years; our family includes me, my wife (Padma), and our 7 yr old son and 8months old daughter. My wife had a symptom of ventral hernia (slightly bulged abdomen), we had consulted General Physician and Surgeon in the UK and advice was that she needed a surgery to have a mesh to fix the problem with a few weeks rest. We were also told that this is not an emergency and it can be done anytime though earlier is good. In fact the surgeon whom we consulted in UK talked about an example of a lady having this done for 30 years of the symptom. My wife did not have any specific pain or something except a small discomfort of bulgy abdomen (like a 2 months pregnant lady) and she was in her normal routine of taking care of our children, taking our son to school, household work, etc.
We were planning for Christmas vacation in India in Dec 2007, we thought we will consult some ‘good’ doctors over in India and take a decision of when we will do the surgery if required and possibly felt doing in India is good because of family support. We have got a reference of Dr J S Rajkumar of Lifeline hospital and we booked an appointment to meet him.
We landed in Chennai on 14th Dec 2007 for a three weeks vacation, met Dr Rajkumar at his city hospital (Rigid hospital) in Chetput on 15th Dec 2007 (Sat) at about 730pm. We have explained him the background, shown him all the comments of UK surgeon, medical reports related to my wife pregnancy, deliveries, etc (she had delivered both our children normally). After few minutes of assessment Dr Rajkumar told us this hernia requires laparoscopic surgery and we can do this next day itself. We were little concerned initially of getting this surgery done the very next day (particularly we were still not out of jet lag and she was feeding our baby) and got convinced with the ‘salesy’ words given by the Doctors. To quote a comment from the Doctor “she will run in two days time and can lift two suitcases and you can return to UK as per your plan on 3rd Jan 2008″). Also Dr Rajkumar told us that he will be on travel for 3 days from 17th Dec and moreover he was teaching Post Graduates on 16th Dec about laparoscopic surgery and let us get it done on 16th Dec.
Then my wife was put into all sorts of equipments in the hospital (in the name of assessment); blood, urine, ECG, MRI and so on and the tests were conducted till about 11pm on 15th Dec. In fact they have opened the labs after closing hours and got the test done and handed over the test results to us. They had some problem in the ECG and we were told that ECG can be done on the next day at Lifeline hospital.
We were asked to report to Rigid hospital at 5am in the morning. Think of it, we went our residence around midnight and my wife had rush on some food to keep compliance on the fasting 8 hrs prior to surgery. After preparing for the hospital visit that night and a couple of hours sleep (3 hrs or so) we reached Rigid hospital on 16th morning at 5am or so and from there we were transported by an ‘ambulance’ to Lifelife hospital in Perungudi (outskirts of Chennai).
We reached the hospital at 630am, paid some initial advance for the surgery and we were given a room. Padma went through some more basic checks like height, weight, etc. Padma was taken to the operation theatre at about 10am in the morning on 16th Dec. After the laparoscopic procedure she was moved to post operative ward at about 12 noon and I have met her in the afternoon to say a small hello when she gained consciousness. Dr Rajkumar met us on 16th Dec afternoon and he in fact congratulated me for successful surgery and said he has used proceed mesh (costly one) and advised his staff to move Padma to normal ward in the evening as she had to feed her baby. But, Padma was moved to normal ward only on 17th Dec morning, she was on IV fluids as per normal post operative procedure.
Padma started to develop some fluids in her abdomen which duty doctors / surgeons have ‘rightly’ observed. She was put in some series of tests on 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th – tests include multiple ultra sound, multiple CT scans, pricked her abdomen and taken fluids, she had a long tube through her nose overnight to collect fluid for tests, etc. We were told the fluid is normal after surgery and it will be alright after she passes stool, etc.
In the meanwhile Dr Rajkumar returned from his travel and seen Padma on 19th on 20th Dec evening along with other surgeons. He made an assessment and he told me that he might want to do one more laparoscopic surgery to find out what is the fluid about. He wanted to do a surgery on 20th Dec evening itself, but he could not proceed as the hospital has given solid food that afternoon – hence anaesthesia could not be given. (lack of co-ordination among departments, time lost here, may be she could have survived if they have did the surgery on 20th itself)
On 20th Dec night, fluid started oozing from Padma’s abdomen stitches, after the duty Doctor’s assessment she was shifted to ICU. We really did not know what complication she developed in the ICU.
On 21st Dec (Friday) morning around 830am I was called in to the ICU to convey that they are going to perform a surgery and I had to sign “high risk consent”, they were telling this in front of my wife (just think of a patient hearing this before the surgery). I was just shocked at that and had no options to sign whatever they wanted. I said “all the best” (my last conversation with my wife) to my wife and she was taken to Operation Theatre.
While I was discussing with the Doctors at ICU, the cashier in the hospital kept on calling me on my mobile. When I met the cashier he asked for Rs.60, 000 to be paid immediately and I told him take Rs.40, 000 and will give you the balance later in the day. Bang a reply came, “you have to pay the money to for me to give clearance for surgery”. When I expressed my unhappiness about the comment, he insisted for me to sign a piece of paper saying that I will give the money later in the day. (What money minded, in-human attitude!)
We had no news from the hospital on their own about the surgery, I had enquired the staff nurse and visited my wife in the ICU and learnt that she had a diagnostic laparotomy (open surgery) and there was hole in the intestine which was fixed.
We have meet Dr Rajkumar at about 3:30pm on 21st Dec and understood that there was a duodenum rupture and he has fixed it, at the same time he removed the mesh which was fixed on 16th Dec. She was also paralysed and put on ventilator as she was waking up. He explained it was between life threatening and beauty so they addressed the duodenum rupture problem. What we were puzzled were, how did the rupture happen? for that explanation given were
- it could be due to ulcer. My wife had no evidence of ulcer in the past. Explanation given was 40%+ cases of ulcer is silent and there will be no symptom (I lack medical knowledge to appreciate this)
- it could be due to post operative stress (so many test post operation without any explanation of what we were doing could have created the stress on Padma is my argument)
On the same night (21st Dec) at about 930pm, I was called in to the ICU and Doctors conveyed that my wife condition is critical – her pulse is high, BP is low and they were attending to her. I insisted on talking to Dr Rajkumar immdly, but they refused to connect me to him at first and finally managed to speak to him. Dr Rajkumar came in around midnight and explained that the lungs are getting affected (shown X-ray of white patches on the lower portion of lungs) and she was the most serious patient in the whole hospital that time and they were trying their best. He also said, it will need another 12-24 hours of observation before they can say anything.
We were completely panicked and just waiting outside the ICU and praying for Padma’s recovery. We had to argue with the security outside the ICU to gain access to the Doctors to know her situation (no courtesy from the security personnel, who just don’t understand the situation)
At about 4:30am in the morning, my friend gained access the Doctors in the ICU and came out with the low face to tell me that Padma’s condition is worsened. Again I tried to reach Dr Rajkumar and the hospital says they don’t have his contact number (just can’t understand how they can behave like this). Finally after some hue and cry Dr Rajkumar came on line to tell me that he is not God and don’t think his visit can do any thing different. I cried, begged him to come over to give some ideas to his team to recover Padma. He came over at around 6am and said they are trying everything possible, etc; but her end came quickly.
The end came to our beloved Padma at 6:30am on 22nd Dec, throwing the entire family to rude shock and a life time sorrow. Our “LIVES AFTER DEATH” of Padma has changed for ever.
I can now think of so many questions retrospectively;
1. Why did the surgeon perform the surgery the very next day of consultancy, that too for a non-emergency one like this? (Padma had just travelled many miles, she was not even out of jet lag.) Was it for money? Was it for them to get one more sample for their post grads training?
2. Did the Doctors made proper assessment on Padma’s fitness for surgery, frankly did they even had time to go through the reports, after the tests till 11pm on the previous night for next day 8am surgery (particularly when the reports were with us till 730am on the day of surgery).
3. Patient communication and counselling. Isn’t it important to communicate to patient and their relatives on the development of patient condition (fluid collection started from the next day of laparoscopic)
4. Did the absence of Dr Rajkumar for three days post the first surgery is one of the reason for this disaster? Were the other Doctors not able to diagnose or take a decision? Were they waiting for Dr Rajkumar return?
5. What is the real reason for duodenum perforation? My wife never had any history of ulcer to the best of my knowledge. Why did the hospital take so much of time to react (5 days after surgery) when such a crucial thing like perforation has happened.
6. Was there any issue in the initial laparoscopic procedure which has caused the perforation?
7. Careless attitude by hospital staff? – my wife sex was recorded as “Male” initially and corrected after I told them. The staff was not even apologetic for this, he rather asked me “why didn’t you inform”. Can’t he make out with the name Padma. Think of it, if he has changed the blood group from A+ to B+; that is it!!
8. Will anyone with basic common sense ask for high risk signature in front of the patient? I was asked to sign just minutes before surgery in front of my wife.
9. Is the hospital money minded?: They were demanding money on gun point almost.
a. Prior to the first surgery the cashier said please give Rs.30000/- more for him to give clearance for surgery
b. When my wife going for second surgery I was told by the cashier again, please give Rs.60000/- for clearance for surgery
c. The hospital charged more than what was told for initial laparoscopic, without even communicating to me increase in charges
d. The final “bill” was just on letter head, without mention of currency, invoice number, etc. I had to insist on a proper invoice later.
e. I was given to understand that they even made arguments on ambulance charges to send my wife dead body back home.!! (making money on the dead body also)
10. Why the hospital did not made me to talk to my wife when she gained consciousness after the second surgery? If not anything else, I could have held her hand. Even a criminal gets an opportunity to communicate his/her last wishes. Am I or my wife worse than?
11. FALSE reports – After all these hospital sends me false reports (on Jan 11, 2008 – three weeks after my wife’s death) :
a. They had mentioned she had LSCS (caesarean section) and large scar due to LSCS. When my wife delivered both the babies normally, how does one record as caesarean and how there will be scar when there was no caesarean?
b. The hernia was mentioned “incisional hernia” – when there was no incision on her body how the hernia is categorised as incisional? It was actually ventral hernia. Don’t think one can replace any term with any term just like that!
c. Most importantly, the surgery was performed on 16th Dec 2007, the report said 17th dec 2007
12. MISSING REPORTS – From the hospital records Doctors notes were missing for 16th and 17th Dec. The first report is available for 17th Dec at 8:36pm. How come there are no Doctors’ notes for about 36 hours after the surgery? Isn’t it fishy? Did something went wrong on the first laparoscopic procedure?
Our entire family is still mourning and trying to reconcile the fact that our Padma is no more. My 7 year old son is aware that is Mom is not there, does he understand? My 1 year old daughter is too young to know what has happened. What will her questions be in future?
My sincere advice to all is
a) Do not get carried away by advertisement / TV shows / big buildings
b) Please do not rush
c) Do your own due diligence, particularly when things are not an emergency
d) Try and understand the medical terms, do research prior
e) Please ask questions, at every stage.
f) Don’t say “I can spend anything”
g) Know patient rights
I am still not convinced that Padma has died after a ‘simple’ laparoscopic surgery? I am deeply upset of what has happened to Padma and for what is happening to us. What I could have done (or not done) which would have prevented this. What is that we can do to prevent this in future for others!!!
Please join me in making awareness to others. While India is trying to woo many international Customers in the name of ‘medical tourism’; first let the authorities make regulation on the health care system and take care of Indian people first.
Case # 2 in the next blog
Friend or foe!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got the spark to write this from an sms send by a close friend of mine. The message was something like, you got to accept people what they are and that is friendship.
And i am writing this blog to let others know the person who claims to be your friend and accepts your weaknesses is not ur FRIEND. He is ur FOE.
Your best friend is not someone who supports you when you do something wrong. A friend is someone who points at you and says ” what the F*** did you do”..hehe. I just cant understand the logic behind the so called friendship who motivate each other to smoke or drink and even the extreme ones. And am not sure by what margin it is friendship.
A good friend told me about another person that ” look! he is not gona change. So why waste ur time, trying to change him. Just accept him the way he is”. This statement is not a sign of friendship, atleast for me. A friend is someone who guides you in the right track. If he is someone who supports you in whatever good for nothing things you are involved in, he is the most dangerous person you could ever meet.
Personally, I have many friends who just support me for whatever i do. But my life would have been much better if i was being criticized at the right time. But then, no complaints.
And ofcourse, we all will get many to support for negative things but a very few for positive ones. And always the one who tries to bring you in the right direction is avoided. And the one who takes you to wrong directions is ur friend. Not always, but this is something i have noticed.
In my case, God is my buddy as he gives me opinions, ideas, criticisms. And i dont expect anything from anyone else. And neither do i bother about opinion from others. When i have God as my friend, i don’t need anyone else na.
This was a very small write up . Take care..And comments please

Politricks or Politics… Well, both are the same.hehe
- “Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first.”
- Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.
The 3 quotes mentioned above conveys everything.
What is today’s politics? Today’s politics is about three or four parties competing against each other to pass the test of survival. It is not about to serve the people, it is about to serve themselves. It is not by the people, of the people and for the people. It is BUY the people, of the people and for my people. It is not about what you do after you get elected. It is about how smart you were to waste your time and get all your personal needs satisfied rather than the country. How smart you are to object other parties suggestions even if it would have been good for the people had it been made practical. Politics is about showing how powerful you are. It is a platform to attend inaugural functions and not being bothered of what the public is worried about.
We have some specialities as well which rarely happens somewhere else and they are:
- We have illiterate politicians.
- We have criminals among politicians.
- Younger India and greying politicians.
Lets not forget the money spend on election is very less. Want to know, how much? Its just around 15000 crores. hehe. The country which spends most on elections. Probably, the one among those things which does no good to the public. We choose our killers.
Our politicians have been involved in so may criminal cases. Its a huge list of activities. Sometimes, I wonder how do they manage to this?
But i wont blame them at all. Why? Because the citizens are not bothered. We have this typical “I dont care” attitude. Let them do what they want and let me do what i want. And it is this attitude, the reason why India is known for all the negative reasons. We are so much interested to blame the government. The citizens themselves entertain corruption. Nothing can be set right, unless the public reacts. I read it in a magazine, there will be a day when there will be strong protests from the public similar to those of the national movement and that would result in a positive change.
India will be known for being the best in 2020 but if things go like this, will also be known for its setbacks.
Politics in India has been the same for the past so many years, “they come…give promises…..take charge…..waste time….and leave” . And we just sit and watch or may be possess the art of hope and experiment with next political party.
The quote by Obama explains it all
I always believe that ultimately, if people are paying attention, then we get good government and good leadership. And when we get lazy, as a democracy and civically start taking shortcuts, then it results in bad government and politics.

The unknown….Let me get straight to the topic rather than writing boring introductions. I am trying to convey to all the readers that we are people who live our lives based on our limited knowledge and being happy with what we know. But there are so many things in this world which we are yet to know. Let me mention about the saint musician Thyagaraja who sang in his krithis(compositions) that “Oh lord! will it be possible in one’s life to understand the meaning of the musical notes sa re ga ma pa dha ni”. We all have heard Music is an ocean. Why only music, Each and every aspect is an ocean. There is so much left to know.
I saw in Discovery channel, someone stating that “it is foolish to go up the sky to discover new things about the universe. I suggest we should go deep below the ocean to reveal the secrets of the universe”. Might be true. And i recently read it somewhere that scientists are planning to make it practical. Lets take the different art forms. Mohiniyattom, Bharatnatyam, Kathakali etc, all these dance forms have certain values. But whenever i see it, Am just not able to understand what the artist is trying to convey and thats because i dont have the right knowledge about it. I had participated in Cbse Youth festival for Kolkali competition. Its such an awesome art. I also fell in love with Duffmuttu. Someday i wish to learn playing Chenda. I was so happy to know about “Baul”, who are Mystic singers, wandering minstrels. The Baul of Bengal preserve one of the oldest and fascinating Indian tradition. Born from the meeting of different religious expressions, such as Tantrism, Buddhism, Sufism, Vaishnavism they consecrate their existence to dance, music and singing, conveying intimate joy, universal brotherhood, discovering of divine in man’s heart and its just splendid.
We don’t know so many things. I am trying to convey that there are so many things left to explore. There are so many things we dont know.there are so many places we have not visited. And am not sure if its possible in one’s life to reach a point where there is nothing left to know. But the desire to learn something new always helps in our lives rather than spending our lives totally relying or bored up with the limited knowledge we have. Lets explore this world. Lets be like the kids who always ask “what, why, where, how and when”.
Let me state the other side as well, I have noticed many people who know a lot of things than a normal person does and they just talk and dont do anything else. I have met so many in that category. And thats the main reason why i dont pump in any conscious effort to know something new even though my eyes and ears are always eager for it. Whatever i have known till date happened because it just came to me, and i used those opportunities to know more about it.
But i have decided, that after i cross 40, i will be seriously into exploring this world.
So guys, lets explore this world. Lets dive into the ocean of the limitless or unlimited knowledge.

Art attack!!!!!!!!!
Art can be defined in many ways. But i dont want to convey that. Because, i think each and every thing we do is an art. I remember my teacher explaining that copying in exams is an art. That’s true. Because you have to make sure that the teacher is not noticing you and got to fill your exam sheets with your friends answers within the time constraints. hehe. We were also taught in business studies, business is an art. Each and everything done in this world is an art.
But it is not talent alone that is displayed in an art. It is character as well. Art is a mix of character and talent. We all know Yesudas, Sonu Nigam or S.P Balasubramaniam are all great singers. They are famous not only because of their singing but also because of their commitment, confidence and focus to be a well known singer. If you have talent and no character, you cannot succeed. If you have character and no talent, you cannot succeed as well. So both goes hand in hand.
Creativity is something which all regard as something of their own. And thats the main reason why someone would consider himself as different or may be even extraordinary. But what i think is there is nothing left to be created. Everything is created by the almighty. Some are already made practical. Some are not and are yet to be materialized. God just identifies those people whom he thinks can do it because of their character and talent and he just transfers the idea into that person. Something like a patent. Even though it was created by god, this particular idea or art is being transferred through mind and then materialized by the person chosen by god. And that’s why i see all the legends mentioning the almighty in their peak time of achievements.
I am no one. I come with nothing in this world. I am just a creation of god to do certain things which god wants me to. And that task is Art.
Let me tell you the reason why i mentioned the headline as “art attack” as i have noticed many performers who just consider themselves as genius. Some kind of a ego nature. They consider themselves as unique and are lost in the world of egoistic thoughts and tend to forget that its not talent alone. Its also about character. And being lost in such world, i call it “ART ATTACK”!!!!!!!!!!!

Am not wrong with the title. Its not educated. Its IDIOCATED and that means “educating to the level of an idiot”.
Let me shout it loud, ” Indian Education system sucks”. Haha. Am so happy to say this.
When i blog on this, I should mention about the famous quote and that explains it all. “Education is a system where you waste 1/4th of your life to know how to waste the remaining 3/4th”. Clap!!clap!!clap!!!
Another one, ” The theory in your book is totally different from the practical side of your life”. Clap!!clap!!clap!!
Let me lash out that Education is not a means to get a job. It is a platform for you to understand life and thereby create your own identity with your thoughts and actions.
To be honest, I had stopped studying while I had almost covered half of my 9th standard. I mean, i didnt stop studying but i realized that studying was useless. Learning pythagoras theorem or what the mughals did when they ruled or locating tunisia in the geographical map is just pointless.
Sorry teachers!!because they wasted a lot of time thinking that i was paying attention to their boring lectures. But i have learned a lot from their statements. I remember my english teacher in school who made a statement to all the students in our class, a few months before the 12th Board exam and it was like this, “Children!Your Board exams are coming. Its a decisive point of your life. Dont take english lightly. Prepare well. You might feel stressed at this time. Whatever problems you come across, just talk to God”…………..Talk to God, that was the best thing i could learn from anyone. My favorite subject in school was “Fine Arts” because that was the only stuff for which I had a genuine interest. I had chosen Drama in Fine Arts. The teacher was Cochin Mansur who is well known for his talent in singing, acting, mimicking and painting. It was he who actually discovered that I had a taste for arts. And he had told me once, “Nishant !! out of 100, you will get around 90 appreciations. Just make sure that you value those 10 criticisms and work on it”. Thats another great message which i cant forget.
I cant resist myself mentioning, most of my teachers considered education as getting good marks. And thats foolish. I recently happened to attend a farewell party of an educational institution where there were a mix of Indian and international students and i was annoyed with one of the teacher’s message for the students and it was like this, ” We will be proud to see you as Doctors, engineers, lawyers and Chartered Accountants. You might be wondering, why i was annoyed? Well, its because she didn’t mention about being a good singer, dancer, basket ball player, cricketer, film director etc. I don’t understand why doesn’t the education system promote a student to choose a career of his/her own interests rather than obeying what his/her parents want them to do or what the society standards are all about.
My parents used to be very worried whenever i used to score low marks. I guess it was in my 5th standard, mom told me to clean one of my friends shoes with my tongue just because he used to score good marks and i dont. By the way, isn’t that a weird idea, cleaning somebody’s shoes with my tongue. My mom has always been creative, what to do.
I would also like to mention the practice of remedial classes in my college. Those who score less marks will have to attend remedial classes after the usual class hours. And along with many subjects i scored less in Hindi. Because i was born and brought up in Kolkata, i knew it very well. But then, it was always a boring stuff to convey that it in exam papers. We always used to bunk the remedial classes but couldn’t escape once. So my hindi teacher was so keen to teach me as i was the only victim and all my friends had managed to escape. To be honest, the hindi lessons were so boring especially the grammar as i had learned all of them in my 3rd standard. In between, my hindi teacher asked me to convey a question in hindi (as part of some grammar lesson). It can be anything. And the question which i stated was “KYA MEIN BAAHAR JAA SAKTHAA HU” and she couldnt stop laughing. She also asked me “was that with reference to the grammar lesson or you really want to go out”.Hehe.
There is no doubt that today’s students are victims of business. Today education is a business. Its a means to earn profit and nothing else. But i wont blame the institutions. I would blame the parentsa s long as they think that education means marks or job. All the schools and colleges are capitalizing on the attitude of the parents and the students are suffering.
Autonomous should be the key word in an education system. Each and every subject should be treated as a concept. And not as a study material to test the student’s memory power.
The reason behind choosing a particular subject or graduation or post graduation should be passion and not for attaining a good remuneration in any company. Someday, i wish to learn psychology, media management, photography, cinematography because i am passionate to know about it.
Let me stress my point with some more quotes by some famous people.
- “I like a teacher who gives you something to take home to think about besides homework.”
–Edith Ann
- “I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.”
— Mark Twain
- Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school.
— Albert Einstein“
- An educational system isn’t worth a great deal if it teaches young people how to make a living but doesn’t teach them how to make a life.”
— Source Unknown
- “It is important that students bring a certain ragamuffin, barefoot, irreverence to their studies; they are not here to worship what is known, but to question it.”
— J. Bronowski, The Ascent of Man

- “Education would be so much more effective if its purpose were to ensure that by the time they leave school every boy and girl should know how much they don’t know, and be imbued with a lifelong desire to know it.”

I use this opportunity to honor all the mothers in this world. My hugs and kisses for them.
The word pronounced most number of times by any person in this world.
Mom (English), Maa (Hindi & Bengali), Bebbe (Punjabi), Bau (Oriya), Ma/Aai (Assamese), Aai (Marathi), Amma (South Indian Langs.), Ammi (Urdu), Mutter (German), Mãe (Portuguese), Madre (Spanish), Madre (Italian),Mère, Mater (Latin), мать (Russian), Moeder (Dutch), Móðir (Icelandic), Moder (Swedish), Majka (Bonsian, Croation and Serbian)
If you ask me, “what was the best thing my father did for me”? I would say, He married my sweet mom. The visible goddess whom i see everyday of my life.
I remember my mom telling me once, “Son, no matter what you are or what you do. I love you. Remember that always”.
I also wana opine that if you want to know how much your mom loves you. Just try to manage all the tasks she does in a day. And you will know how much she loves you and she doesnt demand anything in return. I just saw this quote by Tenneva jordan, ” A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie”.
I always wanted to complain,” Mom! why are you so much concerned about me”. I dont think they will ever consider their children as grown ups. hehe.
I always hesitate to speak to all my friends mother because i respect them a lot. And have even heard them say, “Son! dont you speak much”. Or even ask my friend ” is he dumb”? haha. I should mention about my friend, Suraj’s mom. She is so friendly. And she makes me speak. hehe. Have always considered her as my second mom. The less i wana talk, the more she makes me talk. And so many questions, Nishant!! did you have lunch. do you wana drink something etc etc. She is so concerned just like my mom. hehe.
All the mothers in this world handle the toughest job and ie being a home-maker. Have always felt that if they had used their skills for managing a business, it would have resulted in huge profit. They are genius in multi tasking.
My mom had told me once that i should have been born in a christian family. Haha. I dont know why she said that. I also remember she had told me, ” I was brought up well not by her, but my neighbors in Kolkata”. he he. I guess thats why there is a huge difference in ideologies between me and my family. Am a one man army. lol.
“Can i do it myself”>>its a question i prefer to ask my mom daily. But i have never done that because have noticed that its registered in their mind. Mammas always prefer to do everything by themselves. So why waste my energy to change them.
One thing am sure, if my mom reads this, she will faint. I dont think she knows that i love her so much. Well, if she knows she will dance on my head. So its always better to lead my life the way i want and not let them get too much concerned about me.
Ummmmwah to all mammas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dialogue of pride, “Am a soldier. Indian Army“. Wow!!!!!
First of all, its my honor to mention about our heroes. We owe each and every moment of our life to them for their commitment to protect us. Its a sacrifice. But for them its their passion. To be frank am jealous of our soldiers, their journey is so thrilling and especially their uniforms, its so manly.
I adore this group of heroes for their courage. I wish if i could do something for them to mark my respect. I tried to have a soldier kind of look and even concentrating on fitness. But what turned me down was when my friend visited me quite recently after a long time and said, “you look like a terrorist”. haha. Ooops! Bad joke.
Indian Army— the epitome of chivalry, gallantry and intrepidity, is the subcontinent`s guardian against all kinds of intrusions. The Indian army makes certain that every civilian can assuredly retreat to slumber whilst they are guarding the nation`s border round the clock. The history of Indian army is steeped in true accounts of exceptional heroism and fearlessness. Its history can be traced back to medieval India. During this time a conventional method of warfare was followed. In ancient India the organisation of the Indian army altered with changing dynasties. Hence the structure, strength and the policies differed with empires but what remained unaltered was the undeterred bravery with which they faced their foes.
If the history of Indian army is to be traced then the Indian army under the British rule became more structured. Although India has been ruled over by several foreign kingdoms but her interests and borders were always secured by the sons of the soil. Even under the British rule the revolt against the colonisers was initiated by men in uniform. While during the reign of the emperors the loyalty of the soldiers laid with their kings during later ages this entire concept underwent sea changes. This mainly occurred due to the rise of the concept of nation. Now their loyalty, duty and responsibility lie with the nation.
Contemporary India has witnessed several valiant soldiers who have unflinchingly laid down their lives for their motherland. The names of such warriors have been immortalised in the history of Indian army. Whether it was the Indo-China War or the Kashmir attacks the history of Indian army states with pride that their troops have always successfully forced the invaders to retreat. In fact whenever the outsiders have tried to disturb the harmony and peace of India, her army has marched to the battleground and vanquished the trespassers.
Patriotism, thats their blood group. And there is nothing in this world that can be kept on its behalf.
My Salute to the beloved sons of this country.

Assumption!!the root cause of problems in life.
Just take a rewind and think about all the problems you have faced in your life. It was related to the word “assumption”.
Now, what is assumption. Someone told me once, the word ASSUME means “Never make an ASS out of U and ME”. hehe. Its always human tendency to assume on any aspect of our life. Be it regarding a particular task, or about a particular person. We just assume. Haven’t you heard, ” He has too much head-weight “, “I think it’s difficult” and so on. We all can relate n number of examples with “ASSUMPTION”, isn’t it?
Recently someone said to me ” I thought you were a nasty guy but now i come to know that it was wrong”.hehe.
I think assumption is related to ego. When i say ego, it means about negative assumptions. Assumptions can be positive as well. It can be a hope on something and that’s always good.
The best way to explain about assumptions is this, “It’s not that things have happened like this. It’s what you interpret of what has happened.”<<This sentence would be enough to give an idea about assumption and the possibilities of problems.
I read a small story about a boy who was brilliant in his studies and extra curricular activities in school. His parents decided to shift him to a boarding school. But things were never the same after he was shifted. He scored low marks in his studies, lost interest in extra curricular activities and even never bothered to mingle with his classmates. He even thought of suicide. His parents got worried when they received the progress report. His dad enquired about it with his teachers. But had no idea on what was the reason. the next day, the boy was asked to spend his time in the school garden so that his dad could talk to him. Dad asked him, “You know why I came here today”? Son replied, “obviously! to check my progress report”. Dad said ” I came here only to tell you that I love you. You are my life. Your mom and me are least bothered on your marks and we will be happy to know that you are enjoying your life.” The son cried and hugged his dad.
Later on, things were as usual. He was back on track. Good marks, prizes, active, smart etc etc.
You guys might be wondering what was the problem with the boy. The boy thought that his parents didn’t want him anymore and hence was shifted to boarding.
I guess, this story clearly states on how assumption can be bad for you.

Hmmm!! I know some of my readers are very eager to see what i will be writing on this topic “What is love”? And am not at all surprised. So, What is Love? I had read it somewhere. Love is the climate of every heart. It is an environment where we live, learn and grow. Wow!! Isn’t it? But the love which I want to talk about and obviously which you all want to read about is the love for a special person. The special hatke feeling of a boy for a girl and of a girl for a boy and according to the latest developments of the Indian law, We should not forget about the boy for a boy and the girl for a girl too. Haha.
The first thing which comes to my mind as I start to write, is my conversation with an Italian Photographer, about 2 years back. We became good buddies and the last time we met, he had told me that before coming to India he had a fight with his girlfriend and the first thing he wants to do when he returns is apologize and propose her for marriage. I told him that i wont be marrying anyone. And after that i was totally spellbound for his response. He responded like this, ” Look Nishant! You might marry or not. That’s definitely your decision. But you must understand that God has decided someone for you. And when you see that person, you will feel it within. And its not necessary that you need to know her well. It can be in a second. You will just feel it within. And am sure you will come across that day. You can definitely hide that but you cant neglect that.” And i hope you guys must have understood, why i was totally spellbound. Such was his passion when he said that. And i agree to what he said.
Personally, the feeling of love was a mess for me. It was like, some intangible force is trying to convey that “Nishant! you love this girl” and am trying to convey, “N0 No No”. Hehe. The funny part is that the girl didn’t do anything that made me fall in love with her. It just happened. So it was a mess within myself and i made it a huge mess out of my own contributions. For me, it was like a trap and I was just restless to get out of it. I realize, was so immature those days. I still have no reasons to convey Why I love her. I just wish if i could tell her some day that its true that i love her but ain’t necessary that she should love me. That’s because, I have so many better things to do in my life. Hehe.
My opinion is Love comes with responsibility. To be specific, True Love. True love is related to responsibility. In our life, there are lot of responsibilities that need not be invited. They just invite us. As time passes, the load of responsibility increases. But love is one such responsibility which someone invites by himself. The boy raises his hand and says ” I know this girl whom i want to protect and share each and every moment of my life with her. I wish if i could do that”. And the funny part is about the girls. They raise their hand and say ” I know this boy and i wish he was responsible enough to take care of me.” Haha.
If there is no responsibility factor, then it can be mentioned as ” Timepass”, “Infatuation”, “Fake” etc etc. I have seen so many, the so called lovers visiting malls, watch movies etc etc and in the end, the girl says ” My marriage is fixed”. And the boy weeps or pretends that he is weeping. hehe.
True love is the most pure and divine feeling you could ever come across and the best statement you can ever say in your life is of course, “I LOVE YOU”.
The happiest people in this world would be those who found their love by themselves and are still together.

Modern slaves!!! We all know what slavery is. But what I want to point out is nothing related to that. The modern slavery is different. It is the way, the majority of us live our life. We never do what we want to do. The apt word is freedom. We lack freedom. The lives of majority of people is just the same which is “you are born and then you study for about 20 years and then you work for about 40 years and then lead a retirement life for about another 20 years and its the end. Wow!! what an adventurous life.hehe”
I remember the famous quote which we all have heard from our parents, “child! learn well or else you wont get a job”. I just don’t understand, why the people do not follow their passion. I had so many friends who wanted to be cricketers, singers but they all just gave up and became software engineers, marketing managers etc. Today, too much obedience is a sin. The doctor’s son should be a doctor. An engineer’s son should be an engineer. A politician’s son should be a politician. As if it’s the protocol of life. Nobody wants to know what the individual wants to become.
Martin Luther King had quoted ” If you have not found anything for which you don’t mind to die, then you are not fit to live”. I am not sure if all of us wanted to work in an organization, work 10 hours a day and then earn the monthly salary and repeating the same schedule for so many years. How many of us can say it with confidence that ” I love what i do” or “i am doing what i wanted to”? Coming back to obedience. We obey too much. Indians are too much obedient. Have heard it so many times, “Dad! wants me to do engineering” or “Mom wants me to be a doctor”. My reaction goes like this, ” If your dad prefers engineering, tell him to study and write the exam”. Hehe. I would rather respect someone who wanted to be clown right from his childhood and has his focus on it.
We get plenty of advices from our friends and relatives. If you ask me why, I would say because it’s free. No costs involved. They can give you lecture for an entire day. I have got many. An i just smile at them, pretend that am listening. Can you imagine of a situation where a person who has never been to college and is giving advice on post graduation. Isn’t it weird?
I dont mind to die trying rather than doing something which i never want to. Follow your passion. And not stupid advices. Life is only once. If you want to do, do it now. It is now or never.
You have two options, be a modern slave or an entrepreneur. The remote control of the modern slave is with his employer, friends and relatives. But the remote control of an entrepreneur is with himself. The modern slave is always in a peculiar mental state, by the time he realizes that he is a slave, it would be too late.
These are my views and its not compulsory that you agree to it. All i want to say is “Do what you love and love what you do”
To start with, I dont want to make any controversial statements on this because….I dont know why…..I guess because….aaaa….yeah!may beeecoz….because….because I dont want to die….hehe. Well! such is the sentiments for people towards religion.
You are of which religion? Havent you faced this question. I have been through it for many times. I have been asked just because of the curiosity factor. But that curiosity in itself is very venomous. Whats the point in knowing if someone is a hindu, sikh, muslim or christian. Gandhiji had once made a statement ” The question is not about whether you area Hindu, Christian or Muslim? But the question is whether you are a good Hindu, good Christian or good Muslim.”
What is the concept of religion? I guess I should start from this question. I believe the concept of religion was to ensure discipline within every individual. A disciplined life always helps you. We are always exposed to lot of negative factors and fall prey to it. Religion ensures an individual’s positive or wanting to be positive attitude. The belief system of every religion is all the same. I truly believe, God doesnt reside in a temple, mosque or church. God resides within our heart. I remember a poem by an unknown author and it goes like this.
Break a temple, break a mosque, break whatever besides
But never break a human heart, because that’s where God resides.
“This poem says it all”.
Faith in God is the right path. But faith in religion is undoubtedly a foolish act. Do think about this question,” When God has no religion, Why do people have?
I also dont understand the concept or the whole purpose of Sabarimala. Sabarimala season starts in the month of November and ends in January attracting lakhs of pilgrims. But whats the point when there is not a conscious effort to change within ourself and totally leave it to god. I remember a conversation with my friend, When i asked him “why was he going to Sabarimala”? His answer was ” to dump my bad deeds over there and then restart again with it”. That confirms everything. Many of my friends ask me ” Nishant! You dont go to Sabarimala?”and When I say that ” I havent yet”. Some more come on the way like “You are a hindu right”, “You dont believe in god”, “Dont your parents ask you to”.
Just to inform others I go to Church every week. I have programmed myself to go there so that I don’t loose my focus on life. And thats a belief or rather a practice ,not to show others that am religious or please God but just to ensure that am not on a farther distance with the guiding light of life. For me, the most religious person in life is someone who is focused in life and doesn’t hesitate to achieve it at any cost which is the concept of “Work is worship” .
For me or my friends , being a hindu, muslim or christian was not a matter of choice. So why should i bother about it. The purpose of religion is to ensure that you are on the right track. Thats all. It is not compulsory to visit the “religion houses” if you are sure that you are doing good.
And Communal riots, the most funniest concept ever. People fight with each other on their sentiments with their religion. Let me just ask those dumbos who claim themselves to be religious in which religion has it been mentioned to take part in communal riots. Have never read in the bible, quran or bhagavad gita where it is mentioned to entertain participation in communal riots. All these books motivate the language of love and nothing else.
God has always advocated people to portray the art of forgiveness. And am not sure “How many, the so called religious men are forgivers”.
I love Jesus. I love Krishna. I love Shiva. I love Nabi. I love Vishnu. I love Ganesha. I love Allah. I love everyone. And my god is not jesus, nor krishna and neither allah. My god is my love. My god is my belief, discipline, my search for that divine light of life and that has helped my life to be so thrilling.
God bless you all….
